African Lion Safari - August 2004
We decided to visit African Lion Safari. The place is very expensive
and does not seem like much for the money. However, we drove through the
animal areas and the monkeys climbing on the car made the trip worthwhile.
Parker was particularly thrilled that the baboons climbed onto the car.
For several days afterwards he was talking about monkeys on the car. There
was also a splash park that both kids enjoyed as well as a toddler playground.
We didn't stay to see any shows as the weather became quite threatening.
We drove home the long way - up Highway 5 to Guelph, then Fergus (where we
stopped for dinner) and on through West and East Garafraxis and along Highway 9
to home. A scenic, but long, drive.
One word of advice - pack a picnic. The food and drinks are an
outrageous and extortionate price.
