Canada Day 2004
Canada Day 2004 was spent at Nana and Grandad's house. That morning the
children were freshly bathed and Sloane helped mummy make festive Canada Day
cupcakes - we are still finding red sprinkles everywhere. We would have
taken chocolate chip cookies as well, but alas, Colin is NOT a Stewart and
burned them.
The day was warm, the water was cold, but the kids didn't mind (and neither
did Uncle Jim, as it turned out). The kids played hard and pestered Nana
excessively. Grandad, as usual, cooked far too much food and we all
stuffed ourselves.
After Marg and Paula threatened to turn the kids loose in Uncle Jim's room,
he finally got out of bed and joined the festivities, even running through the
sprinkler with the kids.
Fireworks in the backyard topped off the evening. The kids were asleep
by the time we reached the 404 and they missed the fireworks we could see from
the car, as Richmond Hill, Aurora, Newmarket, Bradford etc all put on their
shows, in clear view of the highway.
Here are some pictures.
